Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 14, 2026 · Last updated: July 14, 2026
Sound & Vine is owned and operated by AA Innovation Group LLC ("AA Innovation Group," "we," "us," or "our"), a New York limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Sound & Vine mobile application (the "App"), the soundvineli.com website and winery portal (the "Site"), and related services (together, the "Services"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Services you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information — email address, display name, and password (passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store your plaintext password). If you sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier and any name/email Apple shares.
- Passport activity — the wineries you mark visited or wishlisted, your private star ratings, tasting notes, companions, and photos you attach to visits.
- Public contributions — reviews (stars and text) you post to winery profiles, which are visible to all users along with your display name.
- Winery portal accounts — for winery members: contact name, business email, the listing you claim, content you publish (hours, descriptions, photos, events, news, review responses), and membership tier.
Information collected automatically
- Location — with your permission, the App uses your device location while the App is open to show nearby wineries and distances. We do not track or store a history of your movements, and location is not collected in the background.
- Device and usage data — basic technical data (device type, OS version, crash logs, and app interaction events) via Google Firebase to keep the Services working and improve them.
Information from other sources
- Instagram — the community feed displays public Instagram posts tagged #soundandvineLI (image, username, caption, and link) retrieved through Meta's Instagram platform. These are public posts controlled by their authors and by Instagram.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Services: your passport, reviews, maps, event listings, and the winery portal.
- To display public content you choose to publish (reviews with your display name; winery content on winery listings).
- To communicate with you about your account, and — if you opt in — about events and releases.
- To bill winery members for membership subscriptions.
- To maintain safety and integrity: preventing abuse, enforcing our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines, and debugging.
- To share aggregate, anonymized statistics with winery members (for example, how many users saved or visited a winery). These never identify you.
3. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months.
- We do not show third-party advertising in the App.
- We do not share your private passport content (notes, private ratings, visit photos, wishlist) with wineries or other users.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children (see Section 8).
4. When we share information
| Recipient | What | Why |
| Google Firebase (Google LLC) | Account data, app content, usage data | Authentication, database, file storage, crash reporting — our core infrastructure |
| Google Maps Platform | Map interactions, approximate location | Rendering maps in the App |
| Payment processor (e.g., Stripe) | Winery member billing details | Processing membership payments; we never store card numbers |
| Other users | Your public reviews and display name | That is what a public review is |
| Authorities | As legally required | Valid legal process, or to protect rights and safety |
If AA Innovation Group LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction; this Policy would continue to apply.
5. Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, passport, reviews, and photos within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business records (for example, winery billing history). Backup copies purge on a rolling basis.
6. Your choices and rights
- Location — you can decline or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; the App works without it.
- Notifications — manage in your device settings or the App's profile menu.
- Reviews — you can edit or delete your own reviews in the App at any time.
- Access & deletion — email us to request a copy of your data or deletion of your account. We respond within 30 days.
- New York and other U.S. state residents — depending on your state, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
7. Security
Data is stored with Google Firebase in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest, with access controlled by security rules and least-privilege credentials. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your personal information we will notify you as required by law.
8. Children and age policy
The Services are about wineries and are not directed to children. You must be at least 17 years old to use the App, and of legal drinking age to consume alcohol at any listed venue. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17; if we learn we have, we will delete it. Parents who believe a child has provided us information may contact us.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date, and where appropriate we will notify you in the App. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
